Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

The battles were the best part of this film. Although a few boring parts story-wise it was fun to watch overall. There were a few clichés however that were a bit terrible and added nothing to the film…
[Spoilers]
…e.g. Saw Gerrera’s demise scene.

Princess Leia and Grand Moff Tarkin looked peculiar as the uncanny valley effect of the CGI was too much. They should’ve kept the characters either as holograms or just shown them through reflections. It doesn’t take away how great the effects were though, it’s just human characters are very difficult to do in CGI without them looking wrong. Unless the whole film is CGI.

Seeing Darth Vader illuminate himself with his own lightsaber was perfect. Totally need more of that feeling again. Looking forward to more of the Jedi storylines again in the next ones.

Hard to hear that Carrie Fisher, drowned in moonlight, had been strangled by her own bra. Much sadness heading into the cinema… it made the ending that more poignant. R.I.P  Carrie.
